Biology Research Laboratory

Renovated and outfitted in 2023 through the generous support of Zaven and Sophia Akian, the Biology Research Lab houses a comprehensive suite of instruments: an inverted fluorescent microscope, an inverted phase-contrast microscope, a UV/Vis spectrophotometer, stereomicroscopes, a Class II laminar-flow hood, two COâ‚‚ incubators, a steam autoclave, low- and high-speed refrigerated centrifuges, a programmable peristaltic pump, an ultrasonic cleaner, magnetic and overhead stirrers, calibrated pH meters, precision analytical balances, and a full complement of smaller tools and consumables. The space is fully stocked for cell-culture work, molecular analyses, and advanced tissue-engineering experiments, allowing students and researchers to carry out projects from concept to data collection entirely in-house.
